Amy Lemke
Hello. I’m glad you have found your way here. The first step on the path to wellness is often the most difficult. From here, you won’t have to go it alone.
My ideal client is someone who is looking to find ways to regain control over their life. Someone who is ready to work to make the changes that need to be made to be able to live their best life. Sometimes, this means looking into the past, and dealing with issues that were never addressed before. Sometimes, that means setting boundaries with others (and sometimes ourselves) to allow us the freedom to have the life we want. And often, it means learning to be kind to yourself and give yourself the grace of being human.
I also enjoy working with women who are experiencing perinatal mood disorders (commonly called post-partum depression, but can also include anxiety and OCD, and can occur anytime during pregnancy or after birth). The time with your new tiny human is special and should be enjoyed. If I can support someone who is having difficulty with this, I am thrilled to do this.
I believe that the most important indicator to the success of therapy is the strength of the therapeutic alliance. Yes, technique and experience is important as well; however, if you don’t trust the person you are working with, it will be difficult to make the progress you want.
I have been a therapist for over 15 years. During that time, I have helped people dealing with a variety of issues that impact the quality of the life they lead. Feelings of depression and anxiety are something that are experienced by many, and are often caused by the stress of keeping up with the chaotic nature of our world. I enjoy working with people who have decided it’s time to take control of their life, instead of letting life control them.
I can’t wait to meet with you and start our journey.
